๐Ÿงฎ Funding Rates โ€” full guide

The Funding Rates table is the raw data view: a matrix of every coin against every exchange, showing the current funding rate on each. It is sorted by the largest funding spread across exchanges โ€” where the same coin has very different funding from one venue to another.

This is the source data behind Funding Radar. Use this table to compare venues; use Funding Radar for the ready delta-neutral action.

๐Ÿง  What funding is

A perpetual future has no expiry, so exchanges use a funding rate to keep it pinned to spot. Every period (usually 8h) one side pays the other:

  • Positive funding โ†’ longs pay shorts.
  • Negative funding โ†’ shorts pay longs.

Extreme funding also signals crowd positioning โ€” very high positive funding near a top means longs are overheated.

๐Ÿ“Š How to read the matrix

  • Coin โ€” the asset (sticky first column).
  • Max spread โ€” the biggest funding difference across exchanges for that coin. Large = opportunity to collect on one venue vs. another.
  • Exchange columns โ€” the funding rate on each exchange. Green positive, red negative.
  • Search a coin to jump straight to it.

โœ… How to use it

  • Scan Max spread to spot coins with lopsided funding across venues.
  • Pick the exchange with the strongest rate for a delta-neutral carry (see the Funding Radar guide).
  • Watch extreme funding as a sentiment gauge, not just a yield.
